A close conjunction of the Moon and Venus, photobombed by a soaring eagle and an easyJet flight! Following the occultation, Venus remained close to the crescent Moon for several hours. I took this opportunity to capture this close encounter above a forested mountain in the Swiss Alps. Suddenly, a soaring eagle appeared in view, soon followed by a commercial flight crossing the frame. My subsequent investigation showed that the plane was likely easyJet flight 21PD from Rhodes to Bristol. All photos are single-exposure shots, taken with a Canon 6D and a Sigma 150–600 mm lens (at 600 mm and f/6.3), with a CPL filter, ISO 200, and a shutter speed of 1/320 s. Contrast and minor cosmetic adjustments were made in Lightroom. Images resized to 50%.
