Details:
After reviewing photos taken in late evening on Oct. 10th (around 11:30 PM CDT), In realized that I had captured some auroral colors. This was surprising, given that I am at only 42 degrees N latitude and the B sub Z was about 9.0 nT North at the time! B total was about 17 nT at the time. Some of the light right at the horizon is from Madison, WI 50 miles to the north, but the greenishness and redishness above it is auroral.
