Jon Larsen is an established researcher of stardust, which is found all around us. Such micrometeorites are the oldest solid matter found in the universe, and contain information about the formation of the solar system.

The mineral jonlarsenitt, the first to be discovered in a micrometeorite, is named after him.

His breakthrough in research came in 2015 at the University of Bergen, and since 2017 he has been affiliated with the University of Oslo, Department of Geosciences. In 2020 he put away his guitars for good.

Yeung, W. K. Y. refers to William Kwong Yu Yeung (also known as Bill Yeung), a Hong Kong-born Canadian amateur astronomer who named one of his primary observatories the Desert Eagle Observatory (IAU code 333).
Located in Arizona, United States, the Desert Eagle Observatory is where Yeung discovered many of his more than 2,000 asteroids, as well as the comet 172P/Yeung.
He also discovered the object J002E3, which was first thought to be an asteroid, but is now known to be part of the Saturn V Rocket that propelled Apollo 12 into space.
The asteroid 40776 Yeungkwongyu, discovered by astronomer Roy Tucker at Goodricke-Pigott Observatory (683) in 1999, was named in his honor.
