Details:
Three different types of nebulae: Dark (B33) + Emission (IC 434) + Reflection (NGC 2023). DWARF LAB DWARF Mini from Rone Italy. 120x 15s light frames, Gain 90. Total integration 30 min. *B33 – Horsehead Nebula* This is the Horsehead itself—the dark silhouette on the right. It is not luminous; rather, it is a cloud of dust that blocks out light. It is a dark nebula. *IC 434* This is the red area you see in the background. It is an emission nebula—hydrogen gas that glows because it is illuminated by the light of nearby young stars. Without IC 434, you wouldn’t be able to see B33; it serves as the illuminated backdrop. *NGC 2023* The blue patch in the lower-left corner is a nebula, specifically a reflection nebula. It does not glow on its own; instead, it reflects the blue light from the nearby star HD 37903. That is why it appears blue.
